FIRST COMES LOVE, THEN COMES MARRiAGE, THEN COMES...
We've been keeping it a secret for awhile, making sure everything was going okay, but we're excited to announce that we'll be adding a new member of our family in late August! Valentine's Day we found out it's a boy! Which somehow I kind of already knew but secretly was wanting to buy little girl clothes. I can't help it, tiny dresses are so cute but I'm sure I will find some amazing boy clothes! Let the hunting begin. If you know of any cool shops for kid clothes please leave me a comment or message me!
I know what some of you are thinking. If you know me well, you might know that I never really wanted children. Don't get me wrong, I love kids, but I knew at a very young age having them wasn't for me. That can be a tough thing for some women to share. I was always questioned why and to be honest I don't think it's anyone's business. There are many reasons people decide not to bring another life into this world, and no one should ever be made to feel guilty for their decision. Let's face it, there are a lot of people that shouldn't be having kids. As I got older my life never was in a place where I would have even considered adding a child to it. Fast forward many years later and I have a whole new life, and a whole new relationship. I had to go through a ton of difficult times in my life to truly get to a place I felt comfortable. By finding love all over again, my view on what was important to me greatly shifted and I really started to embrace the idea of a family. I went from someone who NEVER thought about kids to actually warming up to the idea of one being around and what that would be like. It took me a few years of really thinking about it to realize, "I think I can do this...I actually want this!" I'm relatively older for having my first child so I honestly wasn't sure if I'd be able to have one or if we'd have to look into other options. Turns out there were no issues and we are now on our way to growing our own little monster.
I know this is going to completely change my life and change my career path in terms of what I'll be able to accomplish as an artist. Quite honestly I'm excited to see what happens and where my life takes me. My favorite things to create in the past were always the kid-related work I made for Hallmark Cards. Some of my favorite artwork that inspire me daily, come from children's books. Who knows, maybe this will spark some new exciting work. I'm already getting excited to decorate and create things for our child! Stay tuned for, well baby related stuff, because that will be my life for awhile but don't worry I'll still be sharing other things that inspire me :)
